TaxCove ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our tax preparation and accounting services.

Information We Collect

  • Personal identification: name, email, phone number, address
  • Tax-related information: Social Insurance Number (SIN), income details, employment records
  • Financial documents: T4s, T5s, rental income statements, expense receipts
  • Account information: login credentials, booking history

How We Use Your Information

  • Prepare and file your tax returns with CRA and Revenu Québec
  • Communicate with you about your submissions and bookings
  • Process payments securely through Stripe
  • Improve our services and user experience
  • Comply with legal and regulatory requirements

Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data. Your information is stored securely in Canada using Supabase infrastructure. Sensitive data like SINs are encrypted at rest and in transit. We never log or store SINs in plain text.

Data Retention

We retain your tax records for 7 years as required by Canadian tax law. Shorter-lived operational records such as handled contact requests, handled property management leads, and blocked upload remnants may be removed earlier through scheduled retention processes. Legal holds and records required by law are not removed through those shorter retention windows.

  • Stripe: Payment processing (PCI-DSS compliant)
  • Supabase: Data storage and authentication (hosted in Canada)
  • CRA/Revenu Québec: Electronic tax filing
