Cookie Policy

Cookies are small text files stored on your device to remember preferences and improve your experience. This policy also covers the equivalent browser storage TaxCove relies on: your answer to the cookie notice is kept in your browser so the site does not have to ask again on every page.

• Analytics measurement to understand usage patterns. The analytics service TaxCove runs, Vercel Web Analytics, is cookieless: it stores no cookie and no advertising identifier on your device.

TaxCove measures site usage with Vercel Web Analytics, provided by Vercel, the company that also hosts this site. Its script is not requested at all until you choose Accept in the cookie notice. Choosing Reject Non-Essential leaves it unrequested, and you can change your answer at any time through the Cookie settings link in the footer.

• It is cookieless: it stores nothing on your device and reads no advertising identifier. To recognize a repeat visit without a cookie, Vercel derives a hash from the request itself, combining details such as your IP address and browser identification with a value it changes daily, so the count cannot follow you into the next day or onto another site.
• What Vercel receives with a measurement: the page address, the referring page your browser reports, and coarse technical details derived from the request, such as browser, operating system, device type, and country.
• What is removed before anything is sent: pages behind sign-in are never reported as themselves. An intake form, a payment, a booking, your dashboard, or a staff page is replaced by a fixed generic label such as /private/form. Because only that label is sent, the identifiers, query strings, and fragments in the address are discarded along with the rest of it.
• Page views of those private pages are not sent at all. Only four conversion counts are: a service category chosen, a call-to-action clicked, a return submitted, and a deposit paid. Each carries the generic page label, the service category, the step in the flow, the link or button used, and the display language, and nothing that identifies you, your filing, or your payment.
• If you withdraw your acceptance, measurement stops immediately: the site sends no further page views and no further conversion counts. A script already downloaded in the tab you are on is not removed until you reload the page, but it is no longer given anything to send.
• Google Analytics is still present in the site code but is not active: no Google measurement ID is configured for this site, so no Google Analytics script and no Google Analytics cookie are loaded. If it is ever enabled, it will run behind the same consent choice.

You can control cookies through your browser settings, and you can change your analytics answer at any time with the Cookie settings link in the footer. Blocking cookies may affect certain features such as authentication or analytics-based improvements.

We use trusted third-party providers, including Vercel for hosting and the cookieless Web Analytics measurement described above, and Stripe for payments. These services may set their own cookies in accordance with their policies. The full list of processors is published in our Privacy Policy.
