Quebec Tax Document Checklist
Gather slips, receipts, notices, and rental or business records before you start.

Before you start and after you finish the checklist
The checklist is meant to reduce avoidable back-and-forth. Use it to get the file ready before you choose the next action.
1
Before you start the intake
Gather the notices of assessment, slips, receipts, and carry-forward details that usually change the filing result or trigger follow-up questions.
2
If the file is ready once the list is complete
Move to Start when the category is clear and the core documents are ready to be shared in our process.
3
If something still feels unclear
Use the FAQ or the online filing page if you need more reassurance about the process before you submit anything.
Tax readiness check
Answer a few non-sensitive questions and receive a practical preparation summary by email.
This file likely benefits from a quick review path before documents are uploaded.
Document Groups
Sort your documents into these main categories
Social insurance number and other personal data
Income T-slips (T4s, T5s, etc.)
Records of any other income, such as an income statement from your self-employment
Receipts for tax deductions, including medical expenses, charitable donations, childcare or caregiver expenses, monthly transit pass, etc.
Data from past tax years such as your RRSP contribution limit, repayments required under the Home Buyers Plan or Lifelong Learning Plan
The tax package sent to you by the CRA, including your access code to file online or by telephone
Focus the checklist
Choose one category at a time when the full list feels too dense on mobile or when you are checking a specific document group.
